Blue Lizard Theatre Company is a collaboration between writer Marian McCraith and actor/writer Steve Ashton. We use vibrant new writing to deliver exciting and profound drama to audiences both in theatre and non-theatre venues. The Reading Room, has been touring throughout England since the spring of 2006, appearing at venues across the UK, including Manchester, Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham, Stoke, Preston and Portsmouth. “a tour de force” - Jeanette Barnes, Artistic Director, Heron Theatre
Blue Lizard received Arts Council support to develop Simply Einstein, a one-man play about the immensely rich scientific, personal and political life of one of the twentieth century’s greatest thinkers. It premiered at the Heron Theatre in February 2009.
With the help of animation techniques and video projection, our Einstein interacts with the important characters of his life and reveals the thinking behind his key discoveries.
Simply Einstein traces Einstein’s story from the politically naive, romantic student of his early days in Europe, through the glory years of Relativity, the Nobel Prize and international fame, to the disillusioned, philandering and ultimately frustrated theorist he became towards the end of his career in America.
In an extension of Blue Lizard’s technical side, we have been producing videos, film animations and interactive educational games for touring school plays and mobile exhibitions over the last couple of years. Find out more about the high-tech side of Blue Lizard here.
